KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 3 — The Special Integrated Task Force on White Rice Operations Enforcement (Op BPT), launched in early October, has been extended until November 17.

ALOR SETAR, Oct 10 — Authorities confiscated 180 metric tonnes of local white rice hidden in a rice mill in Kedah worth an estimated RM405,000 during Op Beras Putih Tempatan (Op BPT) yesterday.

PUTRAJAYA, Sept 2 — All padi millers and rice wholesalers have been asked to increase the supply of local white rice (BPT) by 20 per cent through the Local White Rice Special Programme, as one of the intervention measures to restore supply in the market, according to Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS).

ALOR SETAR, Aug 23 — The implementation of the ‘Op Beras Putih Tempatan’ (Op BPT) by the government to combat irregularities in the sale of rice by changing the packaging or label of local white rice (BPT) to imported white rice (BPI), is seen as protecting the people from being cheated.

PUTRAJAYA, Aug 16 — The Agriculture and Food Security Ministry (MAFS) has launched an operation dubbed Op Beras Putih Tempatan (Op BPT), which focuses on inspecting and enforcing regulations on commercial rice mills and rice wholesalers.
